You've been considering doing this one forever.
Oh mid '90s. Just because a technology was new and exciting, it didn't mean that it should be used indiscriminately. That's possibly the worst CGI that I've ever seen, even for 1995. I won't assume that this tape was put together in '94 and then released in '95. This was clearly a rush job to serve as a promo for the Mortal Kombat movie. Such an extraordinary piece of medicority. Anyway, it was a good review. Merry Christmas Phelous.
I dunno, as far as mid 90's crappy CGI (not including indie films) goes, I'd have to give the crown to Escape from LA.

What the??? Phelous, this isn't Christmasy at all! What the heeeeeck, not a single Christmas thing about this, I'm so disappointed.Anyway I had that VHS as a kid and I don't remember at all being bothered by the crappy animation on both levels. I guess as kids we're all way more accepting of things because that stuff is truly awful.
Agreed. Kids usually just watch for entertainment than critique.
For a second I thought you was going to review the actual movie and I was gonna rage since you usually bash things. But this pile of crap makes me laugh!

I watched that movie over 40 times. I think its a damn good movie =D the mortal kombat movie that is.
I think it's a damn shitty movie. Maybe I should explain myself a little better. The movie is bad, true, but it is the kind of bad that is enjoyable. The second movie is, at least in my opinion, not even nearly as enjoyable. Mostly little things annoyed me, like Ermac referring to himself as "I", not "we".
I can never look at Raiden and not listen to some Ewan Dobson.
I admit it, I did watch this video a whole bunch of times as a kid... I thought it was so cool to have something that looked like Virtua Fighter graphics right on my own TV! Phelous, it would be awesome if you branched out like this more often. I mean, you point out jump scares better than anybody I know and all, but this was something I hadn't thought about in years and never expected to see anyone mention again. But you were right in there with the funny.
I've been a fan of you for a while phelous for years infact! I just had to make this account to give my reviews on this site and I gotta' say I didn't think you would actually review this one.
Benzaie made the same video as you one day later, you should go and kick his ass.
I knew sending this video to you was the right decision Phelous, your review is the greatest present I could have asked for this year 
I still remember how bad this video was even when it came out, the repetition in the 2-D animation is brutal especially during the fight with the Tarkatan and the 3D makes even the worse Anaconda film look real.

Why did you have to bring back the memories? I forgetton about it till I saw the video. Now I actually remember this and being so disapointed by it.
I never saw this as a kid but I came across it on Youtube awhile back and it was just so terrible I didn't get past the boat fight between Sub-Zero and the others!
The animation is so bad it looks like when they designed Sonya they just slapped long hair, boobs, and her uniform on a male character as she looks like a dude! That square jaw isn't helping at all!

Evolution. Canada gets so much snow, the people are pale to blend in and hide from the Canadian Bears.Never hard of the Canadian Bears? That's because they have a mafia that destroys all information on them. :) I did like this review, and it is the one Mortal Kombat thing I never saw as a kid, thank the gods.

When I wanted to watch the first movie today,which I have on Blu-Ray,I've noticed that The Journey Begins was in the special features!I have this movie since half a year and I didn't notice that until today!There's always more reasons to buy this movie as it goes on!
I'm so glad I didn't star in this mess. Shao Khan couldn't pay me enough even if he offered me a Mansion and a Yacht at the pit of Outworld! This cartoon/PSOne FMV sucked! :/
It's better for someone like you Phelous who knows about the games to do this movie.
